Artist's Comments

Looking at my work lately ive realized that ive lost my vision.. not literally.. but.. as an artist. When i started out my goal was to make good images, but now all im making is photographs. With this photo i hope to go back to my roots a bit, making good images.. and not obsessing if they are 'only' photographs. i want to make art, not a mechanical process.

I think its a very compelling image though I am always drawn to the eye, I think the image might benefit from having the lower down in the image! Otherwise great work!

I like it. Speaking compositionally the crop rocks, in my opinion. It goes against the rules for the most part, we've been told NEVER to crop an eye in such a way, to always leave it whole (or at least in my teachings). But somehow, I think the unsettling effect works, especially because of the way you've treated it texture-ly wise here.

Or it could be that I just have a thing for your eyes in general and that's the first thing I look at.

No, probably not.

Anyway, good work :P
